Kuhn Behavioral Consulting Services has a focus on providing our clients and their families with access to state-of-the-art services along with experienced and dedicated professionals. In 1994, our director, Stacey Kuhn, began providing services to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and providing support to their families and caregivers. Since then, she has built a team that continues to be driven to grow and improve, and to be able to provide quality care in a safe, supportive environment. KBCS provides personalized services, allowing us to manage a multitude of behavioral concerns that we may be presented with. We believe in using the key principles of Prudence, Knowledge, Discretion, Discernment and Excellence in all of our work. Stacey Kuhn 

Owner & Director, BCBA, Licensed Behavior Analyst

Stacey’s journey with Autism started in 1994, when she began working one-on-one with children and adults in Southwestern Pennsylvania as a Behavior Specialist after completing her master’s in School Psychology, where she engaged in home-based ABA services, with a focus on discrete trial programming, NET and PRT.  She has provided ABA services to families throughout the United States.  Stacey is currently a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (1-06-3170), Licensed Behavioral Analyst in Hawaii (LBA 16), Licensed Behavioral Specialist in PA (BA 00020), Licensed Behavior Analyst in Utah (12711893-2506), License Behavior Analyst in Wyoming (BA-027) and Certified School Psychologist. In Pennsylvania she worked as director of a large, multi-county BHRS (Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Service) agency, which provided supports to families impacted by Autism as well as other childhood mental health concerns.    In addition to her experience in providing direct treatment, therapeutic assessment and supervising a variety of clinicians, she has utilized her skills as a BCBA and School Psychologist to help families and school districts with Independent Educational Evaluations. She also was an adjunct faculty member at California University of PA, where she taught graduate level courses in Applied Behavioral Analysis, Research Design and Evaluation.  Stacey's focus is on equipping and empowering families and therapists to help children with ASD reach their highest potential.

Shea Yonamine

BCBA, Licensed Behavior Analyst

Shea Yonamine, BCBA, LBA, currently holds a Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis. He is a licensed behavior analyst in the state of Hawaii.  Shea has been helping others on the island of Oahu since 2003.  He started his career as a certified occupational therapy assistant working with geriatric population, and then transitioned to working with adults with mental illness as a social worker and Employment Specialist.  Following this, Shea was introduced to ABA and worked as a Behavior Technician from 2013-2018, while attending school to obtain his Master’s degree and BCBA credential. He has experience working one-to-one with kids and families within home, community, and school settings. He also enjoys supporting those who wish to work towards their BCBA credentialing. Shea plans to provide quality Applied Behavioral Analysis services to the children and young adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder on O’ahu and throughout Hawaii.

Jason Stauffer

BCBA, Licensed Behavior Analyst

Jason began his journey in the field of ABA in 2011 as a classroom assistant at a school for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Brooklyn, New York while working towards his Master's Degree and teacher certifications in Early Childhood / Special Education at CUNY Hunter College.  After earning his degree, Jason moved into a classroom teacher position in that same school, where he was first introduced to the concepts and principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).  In 2013, he joined the NYC public school system as an elementary-school special education teacher, and worked part-time as an in-home Early Intervention services provider for children with developmental delays.  He began providing early intervention services full-time as a direct staff and supervisor in 2016 as he completed his post-graduate ABA coursework.  In 2018, Jason passed his BCBA exam and has since been providing clinical supervision of ABA services for a wide range of individuals diagnosed with ASD and their families.  Jason moved to Oahu with his wife in September 2020, and currently lives in Honolulu where he enjoys rock climbing, snorkeling, and eating as much delicious food as he can.

Chrystal Honsaker

BCBA, Licensed Behavior Analyst

Chrystal Honsaker, BCBA, LBA, has worked in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) since 2003. She began her career as Therapeutic Staff Support for a Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services provider in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Upon completion of her master's degree in Youth and Family Education from The Pennsylvania State University, she worked as a Behavioral Specialist Consultant and Mobile Therapist for the same agency. She eventually obtained a position as a County Coordinator, in which she was responsible for the oversight and direction of ABA services for an entire county. Prior to relocating to Hawaii, Chrystal completed her BCBA coursework and specialization in Autism Intervention from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. She worked as a BCBA Clinical Coordinator for several companies in Hawaii until 2015, when she decided to pursue her interest in international travel. She has provided ABA services in Africa, and continues to work closely with local communities in Uganda. In 2016, she co-founded a transition and educational center in Uganda, with the long-term goal of establishing an autism educational classroom. Chrystal has provided ABA consultation in other countries as well, the most recent being Sri Lanka. She is currently completing her PhD in International Psychology, with a specialization in Organizations and Systems. Chrystal is an avid volleyball player, loves anything related to the ocean, and enjoys painting in her free time.

Denise Humphreys

BCBA, Licensed Behavior Analyst

Denise Humphreys received her Masters Degree in Counseling from Chaminade University in Honolulu and another Master Degree in Special education – Severe Disabilities fro University of Hawaii – Manoa.  . She has since become a Licensed Behavior Analyst in the state of Hawai'i. She gained her initial experience working with youth with ASD in 2004 work both in the private and public sector as a behavior therapist.  She also worked as a special education teacher, school based behavioral health specialist, Autism Consulting Teacher, and Behavior Health Specialist – ASD.   She has also spent time volunteering with Special Olympics.  As new BCBA to the company she is looking forward to working with families and making a meaningful impact on their lives.

Amy Partridge

BCBA, Licensed Behavior Analyst

Amy Partridge, BCBA, LBA, holds a master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis with an emphasis in Autism from Ball State University. She is a Licensed Behavior Analyst in the state of Hawaii.  

Amy became an RBT in 2014 providing support to children and their families. While studying and working to become a BCBA, Amy gained experience working in home, community, clinic, and the Department of Education. She has experience working with children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder.  

As a BCBA, Amy likes to work directly with children and teens while providing support to their family and caregivers. She likes figuring out creative ways to use ABA to develop life skills while creating opportunities to enhance functional communication skills.

Amy resides in Honolulu with her husband and two sons. She loves animals, especially dogs, cats, and reptiles. She enjoys doing outdoor activities with her family such as camping, snorkeling, hiking, and exploring tide pools.

Shannon YBarra

BCBA, Licensed Behavior Analyst

Shannon YBarra, BCBA, LBA, is a Licensed Behavior Analyst in the state of Hawaii. She received her master's degree in Special Education with a focus in Applied Behavior Analysis from Arizona State University.   Shannon has many years of experience in early childhood education, working in day cares and preschools while she was in her undergraduate programs and beyond.  She also has experience as a middle school science teacher, and worked in this capacity on the Big Island of Hawaii. Shannon has always had a passion for caring for and teaching children of all ages and capabilities, and looks forward to continuing this passion in the role of BCBA.   In the spring of 2022, Shannon moved from Hawai'i to Colorado Springs where she resides with her husband, young son, and pets.

James Heberling

BCBA, Licensed Behavior Analyst

James Heberling, BCBA, LBA, received his Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis with an emphasis in Autism from Ball State University. James is a Licensed Behavior Analyst in the state of Hawaii. James worked with the Autism population prior to his graduation from Allegheny College in 2013, providing support to children and families in the home and community setting.  In 2016, he began working as an Educational Assistant for an Autism clinic in Pennsylvania, as well as working directly with children diagnosed with ASD in a fully self-contained autism classroom.  He relocated to Hawaii in January 2018, and has been providing direct care to families as a Registered Behavior Technician since that time.   As a BCBA, James plans to provide quality ABA services to children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder using evidence-based practice.
